As my job search criteria changed, your constant focus on the bigger picture helped me explore ways I could connect with businesses and explore paths my career could follow. There were many times I would take personally my unemployment situation and wonder if, and when, it would change. You provided a supportive and positive foundation from which I changed my perspective and viewed my unemployment as a time to refocus my career on those elements I value and in positions that utilize my talents. Moving to a new area, far away from any previous stomping ground, is an equally exciting and terrifying experience. My initial job hunt following my cross-country move was unfocused, scattered, and ineffective. However, with your assistance, I quickly gained my bearings and began heading the right direction. You provided me a clear path to follow to obtain the career I knew I deserved and desired. I think the most important life lesson I learned was that through networking, organization, persistence, self-motivation and follow through, you can take your career and your quality of life to another level. A position was created for me because, as the president said, “I don’t want to pass up this opportunity …. You are just too good of a fit for us and I know good people like yourself don’t come around that often.” Thanks you Fay for being there for me. I always felt that you gave me great advice and you were very instrumental through this process. You are a great coach Fay, and I am truly grateful to you. I wanted to say thanks for the assistance, guidance, coaching and etc…. Most of all thank you for restoring my self-confidence. You helped me to make a more informed career decision than I would have been able to make on my own. Throughout our sessions together, you challenged me to consider many things that I would not have considered before if I had not utilized you as my coach. I want to thank you for all of the wonderful coaching I received while I was actively looking for a new job. I was so thankful that when I was downsized with my previous employer, you and I had already started diligently working together. As you know, I begrudgingly went through the process of overhauling my resume and it certainly was worth it. I have never had more people so complimentary of my resume and that was most likely what opened the doors to all the interviews I went on. Having 5 offers on the table at the same time, in less than 2 months after losing my job and in the economy like this was a comforting feeling. The irony is that probably the most difficult portion of this whole experience was determining which opportunity was the best one for me. You have provided me with unlimited career support and advise for over 1-1/2 years. Now, I have a job that I thoroughly enjoy, I make 15% higher salary, and I can see a clear path of growth ahead. You’ve helped me find great jobs during a voluntary job change and again after a lay off. I think the phrase that best describes you is that you’ve “taught me to fish, rather than just giving me a fish.’ I want to thank you for rescuing me away from retail. You have a very unique approach for transitioning, and the end result has been great (so have the salary increases). I have some great news for you, I have a new job. I am going to work for a dot com company. In fact, I will be their first employee, and the best part is, I will be working within my field of expertise. I want to let you know how very grateful and appreciative I am of the patience, hard work, and understanding that you have shown with me during this time of great change in my life. Had it not been for your faith, and willingness to go the extra mile with me, I was ready to quit, and that would have been one of the biggest mistakes I could have made. I now have a whole new way to look at my accomplishments, goals, and values. The greatest part was the feeling of confidence and control I felt during the negotiations of my employment contract. I was in total control, and could just about lead the conversations in any direction I wanted. Your coaching was the reason that I was able to get this job and all the extras that go with it. I want to thank you for assisting me in landing that job of my dreams. You were always there to keep me on track. You knew my requirements were very limited, but you kept me motivated, and you helped me see that there were more opportunities out there. All the coaching on interviewing and handling those tough money questions enabled me to not be nervous and to be able to portray confidence. Because of all your coaching I was able to increase my salary offer by $3000 and get a lot of added benefits. I feel that I would have never been able to accomplish all that I did without your support and encouragement. Fay, I want to thank you for all of your help, advice, and support. The negotiation strategy and practice interview sessions were worth $20K, as this biotechnology firm went to the next salary grade to work out a win-win deal. Again, thanks for all of your help and support. I appreciate your professionalism, integrity, and advice! Thank you so very much for your assistance in my career transition! But more importantly thanks so much for your help in negotiating. Instead of targeting at a large bank or brokerage house in a very limited role, I will be beginning my career as a financial analyst at an elite investment company. I have just been appointed project manager for a new account. It wasn’t so long ago that I was wondering if I would find my niche in the marketplace. Had it not been for your patience and encouragement, none of this would have been possible. You helped me identify inner strengths. What a great feeling it is to utilize all the talents that we as human beings posses! When people do something they love, they embody passion, will, and persistence. I now have a complete understanding of very successful people. Ready for coaching?…… |
